Rangeley, Maine - On Monday August 23rd The Wilhelm Reich Museum, Dodge Pond Road, Rangeley will host “Discover the Discovery Room.” This program is for children, free of charge and will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, during the time the museum is closed. Children may bring a lunch and picnic on the grounds after the program.
Maybe your visited our table at the Logging Museum on July 24th. We had such a good time we decided to do it again only here at our museum and also want to show you our “Discovery Room” as well.
You may have visited the museum and toured the building, seen Reich’s scientific inventions and equipment, his study, library, sculptures, vivid paintings, and his personal memorabilia. But have you ever explored the museum’s Children’s hands-on Discovery Room? It is filled with all kinds of things for children to do while their parents visit the museum. So do come see this room, then we will go out side where tables will be set up for hands-on activities, such as viewing colors through a prism, take a short hike on one of the trails gathering materials to make your own slides using tape, and look at your project through a microscope. Learn a new way of tye dyeing and many more activities. Carol Sullivan will be doing face painting. She does a great job.
