Outdoor Sporting Heritage Museum

The Rangeley Outdoor Sporting Heritage Museum is pleased to announce the first in a series of visiting docents who will share their expertise and experience with museum visitors.

Graydon and Leslie Hilyard, authors of “Carrie Stevens Maker of Rangeley Favorite Trout and Salmon Flies” will be at the museum from 10 to 2 on Friday July 1.  They will be available to discuss their research on Carrie and her flies. If you have any flies you believe might have been tied by Carrie, this would be an opportunity to have them examined by the Hilyards.

Author of the book on Stan Bogdan, Graydon is currently researching the life and work of Herb Welch. He will be happy to discuss Herb and any information you may have about Welch.

In addition to offering the opportunity to view historical artifacts, and videos, the museum plans to offer a chance to meet with individuals who have special knowledge of Rangeley’s history. Beginning in July and continuing in August, the museum will be open Wednesday – Sunday from 10 AM – 2 PM.
