RANGELEY — Allison Hammond has been awarded the 2011 Seasonal Friends of Rangeley Scholarship, a $3,500 stipend that will help to pay her college tuition. She will attend the University of Maine at Orono, where she has been accepted into an Honors Nursing Program. read more

CFR Fly Fishing day camp a success

PORTLAND — The Internet-based non-profit, Fly Fishing in Maine, in conjunction with the Rangeley Region Guides and Sportsman’s Association, held its 6th annual Casting For Recovery fly fishing day camp recently in Rangeley. Casting For Recovery is a national non-profit support and educational program for women who have or have had breast cancer. read more

‘Jaine in Maine’ opens summer season

KINGFIELD — The Stadler Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of its summer season with an exhibition of work by Jaine Jacobs of Rangeley and a group show with works of its gallery artists. The exhibitions will be on view from June 25 to July 15 daily from noon to 4 p.m., or by appointment. There will be a reception Saturday, July 2, from 2 to 4 p.m.
