RLRS students visit the Portland Symphony Orchestra

Sandwiched between a cloudy Sunday and a torrential Tuesday the students in grades 3, 4 and 5 from Rangeley were privileged to spend a perfect Monday at Merrill Auditorium with the Portland Symphony Orchestra. This year the Youth Concert was titled “Sounds Like Art.” Weeks prior to the concert, students were invited to paint, choreograph, or write poetry while listening to composers such as Stravinsky, Beethoven ,Vivaldi, and Richard Danielpour.   [Read more…]

Macbeth lives, dies in Rangeley… for thirty minutes

RANGELEY – The Rangeley Friends of the Arts is truly a friend of Rangeley students. With the monetary encouragement from the RFA, RLRS’s high school was able to invite two teaching actors from the Penobscot Theater to conjure the sort of magic only live theater can, and Macbeth, for an Intersession project.
