Dead River Area Historical Society features Benedict Arnold artifacts

Stratton, Maine  –  We have exciting news at the Dead River Area Historical Society.  As you know Col. Benedict Arnold marched through Maine on his Trek to Quebec City in the 1700’s during the Revolutionary War.  Duluth Wing of Eustis has spent many years searching the area of General Arnold’s march with a metal detector and has found a wide assortment of items left by Arnold and his men. Border patrol station to open

RANGELEY — The United States Border Patrol will hold an open house at its new 20,000-square-foot border station on the Stratton Road Thursday, July 22 at 10 a.m. Jeff Beauregard, Patrol Agent, urges all local residents to come and see the new facility.

Ski areas to offer moose-watching tours

RANGELEY — Moose numbers in the Rangeley to Stratton area are up this year, based on observations by participants in Saddleback Ski Resort’s free moose watching tours.
