What makes Rangeley Region Lake Cruises better than other lake tour companies? Some say it is the Captain, but the Captain says it is the Oquossoc Lady. Our restored antique wood launch glides through the water in comfort and style, a very different feel and look than the commonly offered pontoon boat tours. The Lady was introduced to the Rangeley Lakes Region in the fall of 2008. After a “shakedown” period that fall and renaming from the Shady Lady to the Oquossoc Lady, she began cruise service on Rangeley Lake in the summer of 2009.

Built in 1947 by The Goodhue & Hawkins boat yard in Wolfboro, NH, she spent her first 60 years on Lake Winnipesaukee. During these years, she served as a mail boat, taxi boat and private launch. With the renaming of our vessel, the first official passenger was the Reverend Paul Plante who presided over the blessing of the boat. She is 28 feet long and has a 6’ beam. Her surrey top and full canvas siding allow us to cruise in almost any weather. The original 50hp Gray Marine gas engine has been reconditioned and quietly purrs along while cruising, yet has the muscle to push along at a maximum speed of 18 Knots (20 mph).Come enjoy the Oquossoc Lady and the pristine Rangeley Lakes.

Your Crew

Your Crew Kevin and Doreen live on the west shore of Rangeley Lake in the Village of Oquossoc. After completing a 25 year career as a naval aviator and raising three daughters, they retired to Oquossoc in 2006. In 2008 they purchased the “Oquossoc Lady” and in the Summer of 2009 they started Rangeley Region Lake Cruises. Kevin, a Registered Maine Guide and Licensed Boat Captain, enjoys providing a safe and leisurely cruise that includes a historic discussion of the Rangeley Region and affords passengers a wonderful opportunity for close up viewing of the local wildlife. We look forward to welcoming you aboard.
