RANGELEY — Two trees were planted recently to commemorate people who have been influential to students at Rangeley Lakes Regional School over the years. An apple tree was planted in the memory of Dick Deery who served as Athletic Director at the school for two years, and was a dedicated supporter of basketball games over many years. read more

Emily Carrier receives scholarship

RANGELEY — Emily Carrier of Oquossoc has been awarded the 2012 Seasonal Friends of Rangeley Scholarship, a $3,500 stipend that will help to pay her college tuition. She will attend Rodger Williams University in Rhode Island where she will study engineering.

RLRS students visit PSO

PORTLAND — Sandwiched between a cloudy Sunday and a torrential Tuesday, the students in grades 3, 4 and 5 from the Rangeley Lakes Regional School were privileged to spend a perfect Monday at Merrill Auditorium with the Portland Symphony Orchestra, thanks to the Rangeley Friends of the Arts.
