Trees planted at RLRS

RANGELEY — Two trees were planted recently to commemorate people who have been influential to students at Rangeley Lakes Regional School over the years. An apple tree was planted in the memory of Dick Deery who served as Athletic Director at the school for two years, and was a dedicated supporter of basketball games over many years. read more

Snow Magazine readers pick Saddleback

RANGELEY — Snow Magazine recently conducted its 2012 Snoweast Reader Survey for the top 10 individual categories and released its results, with Saddleback placing in five categories including firsts in the Overall Favorite Resort and Favorite Grooming categories. read more

Free hunter safety training offered

OQUOSSOC — The Rangeley Guides and Sportsman’s Association will be sponsoring a free fourday Hunter Safety Training program starting Monday, July 30, at 6 p.m. It will continue Tuesday, July 31, Monday, Aug.

Sculptures donated to logging museum

RANGELEY — Sculptor David Barten of Conway, Mass., has donated five of his creations to the Rangeley Lakes Region Logging Museum. Two tool sculptures will be exhibited this summer, and three dioramas of Rangeley life will be shown in 2013. read more
